<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize skip search reproduction in response to human visual follow-up ability. SOLUTION: In this recorder, an encode data quantity integration counter 7 counts and integrates a quantity of data compressed by an AV compression section 1 and an entry point EP information generating section 4 generates skipped destination information when applying skip reproduction to image data when the count reaches a set value. Furthermore, a motion vector quantity integration counter counts and integrates a motion vector quantity to generate skipped destination information when the count reaches a set value.
