PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a watertight zipper maintaining a completely satisfactory sealing function for both of liquid and gas when pressure is applied when the zipper is used for a long period by a simple structure. SOLUTION: This zipper 1 is provided with a pair of watertight zipper supporting tapes 2, 3 having zipper engaging member rows 4, 5 and having coating layers 7 such as flexible synthetic rubber and the base part tapes 6. The pair of continuous engaging member rows 4, 5 are sewed on the zipper supporting tapes 2, 3 at position deviated in a horizontal direction from longitudinal edge parts of the supporting tapes 2, 3 so that opposed edge part contact areas 9 of the flexible coating layers 7 may be intersected with the zipper 1 in the center line and may be closely adhered each other along a longitudinal plane extending in a direction perpendicular to a main plane of the zipper 1. When the engaging member rows 4, 5 are deviated, the edge part contact areas 9 substantially extend on the longitudinal plane. When the engaging member rows 4, 5 are engaged, the edge part contact areas 9 are bent at a substantially right angle to a side opposite to supporting sides of the engaging member rows 4, 5 and are projected. The flexible coating layers 7 of the edge part contact areas 9 are closely adhered each other by a pressing operation at the time of engaging the zipper 1 and a watertight state is secured. |
