<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the effective analysis method of a block by solving a problem regarding classification in a digital image data analysis method for adaptive compression. SOLUTION: An image data block 1 is divided into a one-gray-scale block ONE, a two-gray-scale block TWO, a block MOP containing a fixed gray scale value where a sub area is contrastive although there are a number of gray-scale values, and a PICT without the fixed gray-scale value. To classify the block MOP, the minimum gray-scale value min., the maximum gray-scale value max, the second smallest gray-scale value nextmin, and the second largest gray-scale value nextmax are identified, and the classification is made as the MOP block when difference nextmin-min or difference max-nextmax exceeds a specific threshold.</p> |
