PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems that display characters are not easily visually recognized and a work is not easily performed since a position of a scanner apparatus is fixed to a cash register counter. SOLUTION: The scanner apparatus, including at least a part for reading the display of bar codes, etc., arranged in a merchandise and a part for displaying a price, is disposed on a scanner base so as to be variable in position relative to the counter. The scanner apparatus rises/falls, having a bag hanger for hanging bags to store the merchandise, which is arranged on the front surface of the apparatus. Each of the mounted (fixed) scanner and the bag hanger in the scanner apparatus is arranged and fixed at an arbitrary height so as to be easily operated, and also rise/fall in response to the height of a clerk (an operator).
