PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording device maintaining a redundant configuration, and capable of executing update of a control program for a disk. SOLUTION: When the update of a stand-alone disk 5 of a logical disk 6 is indicated, data stored in the stand-alone disk 5 are copied to an auxiliary disk 4. When the copying of the data from the stand-alone disk 5 to the auxiliary disk 4 is completed, the update of the control program of the stand-alone disk 5 is executed. Because input/output of the data is performed to the auxiliary disk 4 instead of the stand-alone disk 5 during the update, the redundant configuration of the logical disk 6 can be maintained.
