PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brush roll for cleaning capable of sufficiently removing residues and stuck aggregates remaining on a colored pixel and on a black matrix in cleaning executed after forming the colored pixel in the manufacture of a color filter. SOLUTION: In the brush roll for cleaning, bristles 2 whose diameter is 0.001-0.6 mm are implanted on the surface of a core-like base body 1 whose diameter is 20-400 mm, and when the radius of the core-like base body is denoted as (a) and a length which is obtained by adding the length of the straightly erected bristles to the radius (a) is denoted as b, and 1.02≤(b/a)≤2.0 is satisfied.
