<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium in which production of marks having short lengths causing errors is reduced and which has excellent high-recording characteristics and in which amorphous marks have satisfactory stability. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical recording medium including: at least a first protective layer; a recording layer containing Sb as a main component; a second protective layer; and a reflective layer when viewed from the side on which light for recording and reproduction is made incident, the first protective layer and/or the second protective layer in contact with the recording layer, is formed of a crystalline oxide (1). In the optical recording medium mentioned in (1), the protective layer in contact with the recording layer has 2 to 30 nm average crystal particle diameter (2). In the optical recording medium mentioned in (1) or (2), the second protective layer is a crystalline transparent conductive film (3).
