<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical amplifier for coping with both of control of optical amplifying and update of FPGA (field programmable gate array) without increasing the number of FPGA. <P>SOLUTION: The optical amplifier is provided with a CPU (central processing unit) 11, control circuits 17, 18, a first memory unit 14; a gate array 12 capable of updating based on a program in the first memory unit 14; a latch control means 13 installed between the gate array 12 and circuits 17, 18 to intercept a signal route from the gate array 12 to the circuits 17, 18, during finishing updating after receiving the work beginning signal from the CPU 11 until finishing the updating and controlling the circuits 17, 18 based on a parameter stored in the gate array 12 before the interception; and a second memory unit 16 for storing various kinds of parameters stored in the gate array 12 before updating during a period from at least the starting of updating to the finishing of the same. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
