<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate release, by manual operation, of a parking brake system using an electric motor as a drive source and controlling parking brakes via brake cables. <P>SOLUTION: In the parking brake system using the electric motor 10 as the drive source and controlling the parking brakes 18, 20 in the action state and release state via the brake cables 22, 24, an emergency release device 92 for elongating the length of one of the brake cables 22, 24 by manual operation when the release of the parking brakes 18, 20 by the electric motor 10 becomes impossible is provided in the one brake cable 22. As one example of the emergency release device 92, a parallel cable part in which two cables with different length are connected in parallel is provided in the middle of an inner cable 87 of the brake cable 22, and the length of the inner cable 87 is elongated by cutting or extending the cable in the short side when the manual release is required. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
