<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to register a file in a file management server by transmitting data acquired at a remote place by electronic mail. <P>SOLUTION: A file management server for managing the file on a network is provided with a file management table for registering the attachment file of received electronic mail and the time stamp data. When the attachment file of the electronic mail from the user are an already registered file, the verification of the file is operated by using the registered time stamp data.
