SURFACE-EMITTING LIGHT SOURCE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply attain a desired light distribution using the present surface-emitting light source.

SOLUTION: The surface-emitting light source is provided with a light-guide plate 10 having a light-incoming face 11, and a light-emitting face 12 substantially orthogonal to the light-incoming face 11 to emit the light from the incoming face 11; and LEDs 20 mounted in face to face the light-incoming face 11 and having anisotrophy in light distribution. At least one LED 20 is disposed with different arrangement by 90° to the other LEDs 20 and the light spreading to the parallel surface for the light-emitting face 12 is made different from the other LEDs 20.
