<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device capable of securing a regeneration quantity without prohibiting gear change during the coasting regeneration. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle control device comprises an automatic transmission that can achieve a plurality of speeds by the fastening and releasing of a plurality of fastener elements, and a motor generator that is disposed on the input side of the automatic shift and gives a regeneration torque.
