<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive controller capable of assuring a wide operation range against difference of a parameter of a motor. <P>SOLUTION: The motor drive controller comprises a current lead angle control means 302 which increases a current lead angle if an actual rotational speed does not reach a target rotational speed, an operation state storing means 303 which stores a DC voltage before lead angle control, a motor input power, an actual rotational speed, a driving torque, and a peak value of a motor current after lead angle control, and a current lead angle upper limit storing means 304 which, if a change width of a motor current peak value after lead angle control exceeds a preset value, decreases a current lead angle by the current lead angle control means 302 while stores a current lead angle value in addition to the drive torque, actual rotational speed, and DC voltage value stored in the operation state storing means 303.
