PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cutoff valve 10 provided with a shock absorbing member 46 requiring only a radially narrow space with excellent reduction in impact noise. SOLUTION: In this fuel cutoff valve 10, a float 50 is stored in the valve chamber 20S of a casing 20 and moves up and down according to a fuel liquid level in a fuel tank FT to open and close a connection passage 32a, thereby ensuring the ventilation of the fuel tank FT to the outside and also preventing a fuel outflow to the outside when a vehicle is inclined and so on. The casing 20 is provided with the shock absorbing member 46 mounted to the upper part of a bottom cover 40. The shock absorbing member 46 is provided with a supporting leg 48 formed obliquely upward and outward from a base 47 and formed of a cantilever beam. The support leg 48 is so configured that it supports the lower end of the float 50 by the end of the support leg 48, and deflected at the root of the support leg 48. Also, the support leg 48 is arranged not to overlap with the vertical direction of a communication hole 43b formed in the bottom cover 40. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
