PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a caster capable of accurately suppressing the rolling of a vehicle body by relieving the slight vibration caused by rough ground during traveling and the shock caused by the relatively large step of the ground. SOLUTION: This caster comprises a pedestal 2 attached to a vehicle body side through a bearing 3 to be rotatable within a horizontal plane, a movable bracket 5 pivotally supported on the pedestal, a spring 8 for elastically pressing the movable bracket against the pedestal, a fork 10 pivotally supported on the movable bracket, a block-like rubber body 12 interposed between the fork and the movable bracket, and a wheel 11 rotatably attached to the fork. The rubber body is so interposed between the fork and the movable bracket as to be elastically compressed by the static load applied to the wheel. The spring is retracted when a large load is temporarily applied to the wheel during the traveling to allow the movable bracket to be separated from the pedestal. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
