PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for indicating the whole image of the stress of a workpiece so as to be easily comprehended in order to supporting the design job and the modifying job of a die. SOLUTION: By drawing the whole image of the intensity and the direction of principal stress which acts on the workpiece by taking a series which is shown by the direction of the principal stress as a streamline and indicating it, the variation of the direction and the variation of the intensity of the principal stress are easily comprehended. In this way, because the whole image of the stress which is a primary factor of defective formed goods can be catched, the analysis of the primary factor of the defective is performed accurately and the stress is made useful as information supporting the design job of the die and the modification job thereof.
