摘要 A method and apparatus for relocating a mobile robot is provided to update a spot available for relocation and move to the update available spot when a slip is generated by comparing the feature point of the final efficient point. In a method and apparatus for relocating a mobile robot, a pickup unit(110) takes a picture of the peripheral image for extracting the feature point. A characteristic point abstraction part(120) extracts one or more feature point from the ceiling image of the pickup. A sensor(140) senses whether the movement of the mobile robot is normal or abnormal, and the path memory(150) stores the route of moving of the mobile robot in real time. An efficient point storage(160) stores the spot which calculates the absolute position by using the ceiling image. A relocation unit(170) performs the relocation process for seeking for the location of the mobile robot according to the sensing result of sensor.
