PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data reproducing device, wherein signal separation operation processing is properly performed, by eliminating unevenness of reproduction positions of respective reproducing signals, so as to attain improvements in the quality of reproduced data. SOLUTION: A reproduction position control processing part 235 adjusts a reproduction position in the direction of progress of the track of each reproduced signal by signal processing based on synchronizing signals detected by a synchronization signal detecting part 231 from reproduced signals for respective reproducing heads R-1, R-2, R3. For example, the quantity and the direction of a detected position of a synchronous pattern from a signal reproduced from a track #2 by the track head R-2 are determined, based on the detected position of a synchronizing pattern from a reproduced signal by the reproducing head R-1 from the track #2 as the reference, then this discriminated result is used as deviation information of the reproduced position of the reproducing head R-2. Respective reproduced positions of the reproduced signal of the reproducing head R-1 and the reproduced signal of the reproducing head R-2 are adjusted, based on this deviation information.
