PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically determine whether power feeding to a converter is required, without the need for ON/OFF-setting on the part of a user, in a broadcast receiving device, including the function capable of supplying power supply voltage to the converter. SOLUTION: A broadcast receiving device, including the function capable of supplying a power supply voltage to a converter of an antenna via a cable includes a short-circuiting detecting means (20), capable of detecting a short-circuiting state by monitoring the voltage to be outputted to the cable. In a case where short-circuiting is detected, power feeding to the converter is automatically turned off and, such an OFF-state is stored in a nonvolatile memory (80).
