PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal laminate manufactured by the dry process which causes little corrosion of equipment in molding and lead-free soldering processes and uses a thermoplastic polyimide with an improved heat resistance. SOLUTION: The metal laminate has a resin layer composed of a polyimide copolymer and a metal layer. The resin layer is made from a polyimide copolymer of a specific chemical structure having a content of SO<SB>2</SB>groups of 1.0-7.0 mass%, and the amount of SO<SB>2</SB>produced when the polyimide copolymer is kept at 420°C for 30 min is≤500 ppm.
