[Also in Division F4] A vehicle roof light or ventilator comprises a transparent or opaque cover 3 for closing an aperture bounded by a frame 2 in the roof 1, and mounted on the roof by extensible scissorlike link systems 8 at each corner so that the cover can be tilted in either sense about parallel axes through pivots 12 and also about transverse axes parallel to the cover and to this end the extensible systems 8 are each fixed on respective brackets 15 rotatably mounted on rods 16 which are transverse to the axes 12 and through plate 17 and U-section bars 18, are mounted on the frame 2 so that the cover can also be tilted in either sense about the rods 16. An operating handle in the form of a rectangular frame (not shown) is secured to the cover parallel to the respective four edges of the cover. The link systems 8 are operable through respective dead-centre positions and are urged by springs 22 into the stable positions. |
