<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a cast ingot of an adequate shape and size without requiring the change of the layout in buildings, the new construction of equipment, etc., in the production of a titled cast ingot for electroslag remelting etc., by inclinedly installing a mold into which molten metal is poured by a bottom pouring system. CONSTITUTION:A long-sized mold 1' for production of a case ingot of a long-sized shape for electroslag and vacuum remelting is installed with an inclination by a fixed angle theta with respect to a horizontal plane. Molten metal 4 is poured from a ladle 3 into a pouring pipe 2 and is poured into the mold 1' through a cross gate 5 made of refractory material. As a result, even if the mold 1' is long in size, the increase in the height from the working floor up to the top end of the mold is less and if the angle theta is suitably set, the pouring pipe 2 of height approximately the same as that for ordinary short-sized cast ingot casting may be used. The mold 1' is mounted with a tray time small molding board 6 at its bottom and is removably fixed by bolts 7 etc. at its convex circumferential part.
