<p>The transport mechanism indexes cylindrical items horizontally sideways at intervals into different positions. It has two stationary parallel positioning rails in which are vertical slots whose width equals the item diameter. One or more lifting rails, parallel to the stationary rails, are driven up and down. The top edge of each positioning rail slopes downwards in the travel direction before each slot. The top edge of the lifting rail is of sawtooth section, with faces sloping downwards in the travel direction, starting level with the rear edge of each slot in the positioning rails, and ending level with the sloping faces of the latter.</p> |
