<p>The container is for the transportation of refuse, and has an attachment to compress the refuse between two plates. The compressor consists of a displaceable plate, connected to a drive, and a backing plate, against which the refuse is pressed. The drive is displaceable relative to the backing plate, and may be locked in position for pressing. The drive is supported on a carriage, displaceable on rails. It may be pressed against the rails to act as a clamp. The carriage has a jib, with toggle lever clamp drive, to apply the clamping force.</p> |
