PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk drive apparatus which can be suppressed in thickness, even when the apparatus records or reproduces information at two or more disk faces. SOLUTION: An optical disk drive apparatus 1 has an optical disk holding mechanism 2, which can rotatably hold a optical disk 20 without an optical reflecting layer. A parallel light irradiation mechanism 6a is set to one side, with respect to the optical disk 20 held by the optical disk hold mechanism 2, which brings a parallel laser light perpendicularly to one side face of the optical disk 20. An evanescent optical system 10a is set to the other side, with respect to the optical disk 20 held by the optical disk hold mechanism 2, which receives a parallel laser light inputted from the parallel light irradiating mechanism 6 and passing through the optical disk 20, and radiates evanescent waves to the other side face of the optical disk 20. |
