An air curtain vestibule for preventing cross-filtration of air at a doorway between a relatively warm area and a relatively cool area has duct work and an air mover. The duct work includes a supply air plenum and a return air plenum at opposite sides of the doorway joined by an intermediate air plenum at the top of the doorway. The intermediate air plenum houses the air mover, which creates an air stream circulated through the duc t work. Within the intermediate air plenum, the return air, comprising a portion of an air curtain air stream, cold side air and a lesser amount of warm side air, is mixed. Mixing the air masses reduces the moisture content of the of air stream drawn into and circulated by the a ir mover. Diverters in the supply air plenum strip off portions of the air stream and redirect the air upwardly toward an outlet aperture along the length of the supply air plenum . The diverters work to distribute the redirected air along the entire length of the outlet aperture so that the air stream extends across substantially the entire opening of the doorway. The diverters are adjustable to alter the distribution and direction of the redirected air. An aimer extends along the length of the outlet aperture and aims the air stream in an arcuate path toward the warmer area and into a full-length aperture in the return plenum. For applications having extreme temperature or pressure differentials, wherein mixing the air streams is insufficient to prevent fog or condensation around the doorway, the intermediate air plenum also houses an air heater to heat the return air and reduce its dew point.
