The present invention makes it possible to fit, in a very short time, wheels having a greater diameter and width, which are harder or softer, onto roller-skates on sale commercially. The object hereof is to use these novel skates on sandy areas (soft ground or sports grounds). This adaptor consists of a cylinder 1 closed on the outer side and having an orifice in its centre allowing the screw 3 serving as axle for the interchangeable wheel 5 to pass through. The cylinder 1 covers the wheel of the skate 4, and it then suffices to screw the three screws 2 in order to immobilise the adaptor 1. In order to change the wheel, it suffices to unscrew the nut or wing nut 6, to remove the washer 7 and then the wheel 5, and to replace it by a wheel having a diameter or width which is different (harder or softer); next, in the same manner, the washer 7 is replaced and then the nut 6 or wing nut is immobilised, which can be performed in a minimum time even if the skater already has the roller-skates on his feet. The device according to the invention makes it possible to use roller-skates on ground other than tarmac (asphalt) or cement, and the roller-skates thus equipped could be called "sand skates", and to indicate that they open the way to a new pastime, "gliding sports". The method used is advantageous since it dispenses with the need to provide a second ball bearing, the ball bearing existing, to begin with, in the wheel of the roller-skate. The choice of wheel depends on the ground the user will use, and it may be solid, inflatable and of different diameters and widths. <IMAGE>
