ELECTRIC ACCUMULATOR An electric accumulator consisting of an electrolyte containing chamber and an anode as well as a cathode being in contact with said electrolyte. A suspension of zinc is in the electrolyte containing chamber and the suspension is circulated in said chamber, by a pump or stirring means. The chamber may also be provided with turbulence generating members consisting e.g. of a helical band attached to the wall of an electrode or a ribbon shaped electrode being helically wound in one plane.plane. The zinc particles are preferably supported by cellulose fibers and may be surrounded by a thin hydrophilic layer acting as a porous resistant layer. Preferably the accumulator is provided with temperature control means. One of the electrodes consist of a porous copper strip and a nickel layer partially converted into nickel oxide-nickel hydroxyde and forming the active material deposited upon said strip. |
