PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration in the dehydrating performance of the titled dehydrator due to the clogging of a filter cloth by providing a nozzle for cleaning the surface of a rotor with an atomized liq. when the purging stage is finished on the slurry tank side. CONSTITUTION:While a disk sector 1 rotating on the rotating shaft 3 passes through the slurry in a slurry tank 1, the solid components in the slurry are deposited on the filter cloth 2 on the surface of the sector 1 by the negative pressure in the sector 1. When the sector emerges from the slurry, the water in the solid components is adsorbed by the negative pressure in the sector 1 and removed to form cake. The cake 6 on the filter cloth 2 is stripped off by the back-purge air in the sector 1 or by contact of a scraping plate 5 with the filter cloth 2, before the sector again enters into the slurry (in the purging stage). Moreover, atomized water from a nozzle 7 provided immediately after the scraping plate 5 is struck against the filter cloth 2 to clean the filter cloth 2.
