PURPOSE:To efficiently execute a call with a desired opponent by automatically calling a call requesting side telephone set and a call opponent side telephone set and executing a call connection, even when the call opponent is absent, in a condition the opponent returns to the seat and the both persons are present in their seats. CONSTITUTION:A detecting means 21 to detect whether the user of a telephone set is present at the setting spot or absent and a present/absent informing means to inform a telephone exchange 12 of this detected result together with the telephone number of the said telephone set are provided per each telephone set. The informing contents are registered to a memory 17 provided in the telephone exchange 12 and at the time a called person side is absent, when a call back request is informed from a caller side, the telephone numbers of a caller side telephone set and a called person side telephone set are registered to the memory 17. When presence information is transmitted from the present/ absent informing means, the memory 17 is referred and whether the users of the said caller side and called person side telephone sets are present or absent is investigated and when they are present, the said both telephone sets are called and a call connection is efficiently executed.
