PURPOSE:To ensure continuity of an inner peripheral cam profile and to reduce the weight of a device, by a method wherein a cylinder body is formed by an aluminum alloy, and an inner peripheral surface making contact with a vane is formed by a nickel alloy. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder 2 is formed by an aluminum alloy. An insert 5 made of a nickel alloy is disposed on the inner surface of a cylinder body 20. An alloy layer 52 consisting mainly of Al and Ni is formed between the insert 5 and the cylinder body 20, and the two members are firmly adhered to each other. Since an inner peripheral surface 50 of the cylinder 2 is formed with the insert 5, the whole surface thereof is a continuous surface having no difference in stage. This constitution ensures continuity of an inner peripheral cam profile, and reduces the weight of a device. |
