PURPOSE:To obtain spectral sensitivity characteristics in the wide wavelength region from the visible light wavelengths to the infrared wavelengths and superior in other electrophotographic characteristics by dispersing selenium or a selenium alloy and a specified phthalocyanine derivative as an electric charge generating material into the same binder resin. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer contains as the charge generating material 2 kinds of selenium or an selenium alloy and the phthalocyanine derivative represented by formula I mixed in a mixing volume ratio of, preferably, 1:10-1:1, especially, 1:9-3:7, both dispersed into the same binder resin. In formula I, M is AlCl, Mg, VO, InCl, or H2, thus permitting the spectral sensitivity characteristics to be widened from the visible light wavelength region to the infrared wavelength region and electrophotographic characteristics, such as potential acceptance and dark decay resistance, to be improved. |
