PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the continuous chargeability by including a compound oxide of Li and at least one of Sn, Si and Ge in a positive electrode active material layer. SOLUTION: For example in a case of a lithium secondary battery, a compound oxide of Li and transition metal (preferably CO, Ni, Mn or the like) can generate high voltage when it is used as a positive electrode active material, and high energy density can be obtained. A compound represented by a general formula Li2MO3 is included in a positive electrode mix. In the formula, M is Sn, Si or Ge, in particular, Si is preferred. The compound is reacted with an acidic component included in an electrolyte to prevent a transition metal component in the positive electrode from being dissolved out in the electrolyte. As a result, the continuous chargeability of the battery can be improved. The compound is preferably included within a range at least 2 wt.% and at most 20 wt.% in the positive electrode mix, and at least 2 wt.% and at most 10 wt.% is further preferred. |
