PURPOSE:To reduce cost and to prevent the generation of the deformation, crack, etc., of a heater part by using metal powder which is oxidized by calcination to form an insulating layer and using metal powder paste which forms the insulating layer. CONSTITUTION:A slurry is prepd. by mixing a binder, solvent, plasticizer, and deflocculant with zirconia powder. A zirconia green sheet 21 is produced from this slurry. The paste consisting of Al powder as the metal powder is then coated on the sheet 21 to form an Al powder layer 22. A Pt paste layer 23 is formed on the layer 22. The sheet 21 formed with the layer 23 and the layer 22 is then dried, degreased and calcined. The layer 23 constitutes the heater layer 23a and the sheet 21 is sintered to constitute a solid electrolyte layer 21a after the degreasing and calcination. On the other hand, the layer 22 turns to alumina as the Al is oxidized and the insulating layer 22a is formed between the layer 23a and the layer 21a. The layer 23 and the sheet 21 can be calcined simultaneously under the same conditions and, therefore, the production cost is reduced and the deformation, crack, etc., of the heater part are eliminated. |
