PURPOSE:To accurately prevent coating liq. leakage and keep coating liq. flow from a coater end favorable for coat application by providing a coater with a valve seat which is composed of moisture permeable material and so shaped as to obstruct coating liq. flow by contact with a valve body. CONSTITUTION:A valve seat 31, composed of moisture permeable material, permits the permeation of moisture therethrough but not the direct permeation of a coating liq. itself. When a coater 1 is not in use, a coating feed ball 6 in a receiving chamber 3a is urged into engagement with the valve seat 31 by a compression spring 11 so as not to permit the entry of the coating liq. from the receiving chamber 3a into a coating liq. retaining part 8. Since the moisture of the coating liq. is permeated through the valve seat 31, however, the viscosity of the coating liq. in the coating liq. retaining part 8 is not increased. When the coater 1 is shaken vertically, an abrupt reciprocal movement of the ball 6 in the receiving chamber 3a takes place against the compression spring 11 to force the coating liq. from the receiving chamber 3a into the coating liq. retaining part 8. At this time, as an end valve 4 obstructs an end opening 2e, the coating liq. is not scattered and, when a coating body 5 is forced against the part to be coated, it comes in contact with the coating liq. and a coat applicable state results. |
