PURPOSE:To heat strip uniformly without oxidizing it, by heating an inner tube, which is installed in a heating zone and soaking zone of a continuous annealing furnace and through which the strip passes, with burners from outside. CONSTITUTION:An inner tube 8 installed in a heating zone 3 and a soaking zone 6 is heated from outside with burners 9 by the combunstion of fuel, so that radiation heat is radiated into the tube 8. The strip 1 passing through the tube 8 is heated uniformly in lateral direction by the radiation heat without being oxidized because the strip 1 is heated in the tube 8 and is out of contact with the combustion gas of the burners 9. The burners 9 are inclined in the direction of the preheating zone 2, consequently the combustion gas flows toward the preheating zone 2 thereby preheating the strip 1. Hence fuel consumption in the continuous annealing furnace is reduced considerably because sensible heat of the combustion waste gas is utilized. In figure, 7 is a cooling zone. |
