The appts. to dry film, soaked with copying fluid, has heated surfaces (70) along the guide channel in addition to the drying station or as a drying station, at a gap from the film surface. The surfaces (70) are heated electrically, with thermostatic control. The film (2), held at the outer edges through the edge perforations, is guided by runners (80) in facing pairs, near the heated surfaces (70). The heated surfaces (70) run above and below the runners (80). A hot air eddy chamber (90), as the drying station, has build-up stages above and below the film (2) through a sawtooth profile at the eddy chamber walls. The eddy chamber (90) has hot air inflows across the direction of film travel. The damp hot air within the chamber (90) is extracted by suction against the direction of film movement. The runners (80) pass through the chamber (90). USE/ADVANTAGE - The assembly is for use with film material which has been soaked with a copying fluid, to prevent damage to picture or sound tracks during copying or electronic scanning. The system gives an increased drying action, and any dirt particles are removed instead of being pressed into the film material.
