The electric auxiliary unit, in the second setting, projects from the top surface of the arm rest (1). The swivel mechanism contains two guides (3) arranged close together and two levers (4), located on a baseplate (5). A compressed air cylinder (11) is arranged between a carrying plate (8) on which the e.g. fax unit sits and the baseplate. The auxiliary unit (2) can be locked in the stowed position or the swivelled-out position, projecting from the surface of the seat rest. The movement in to the stowed position is obtained by a force exerted on the compressed air cylinder. ADVANTAGE - Facilitates mounting of commercial electronic auxiliary unit e.g. fax unit, so that it can be operated from different sides.
