PURPOSE:To provide an ultrasonic probe improved in the close contact with the surface of the body of an examinee and enhanced in the sensitivity even to high-frequency ultrasonic waves. CONSTITUTION:At least a rear sound-absorbing material 4, a piezoelectric vibrator 1 and an acoustic matching layer 2 are laminated to form an ultrasonic transmitting and receiving part and the piezoelectric vibrator 1 and the acoustic matching layer 2 are formed into a curved shape having a certain curvature and an ultrasonic propagation member whose central part is formed into a protruding shape is fixed to the curved surface of the acoustic matching layer 2 by an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer resin. Since the ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer resin is almost same to the acoustic impedance and sonic velocity of a living body, the recessed space of the acoustic matching layer becomes equivalent to a state filled with a substance almost same to the tissue of a living body and the protruding part of the central part of the propagation member 6 improves the close contact with an examinee. By this constitution, the sensitivity at high-frequency is enhanced and the good close contact with the examinee can be kept. |
