PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide conductive agent of a high conductivity to be used in an alkaline storage battery such as a nickel-hydrogen storage battery and a nickel-cadmium storage battery, a manufacture method thereof, and a non- sintered nickel electrode of a high active material utilization factor using this conductive agent. SOLUTION: For this conductive agent, a cobalt or cobalt compound heat- treated at 50 deg.C-200 deg.C in the condition where potassium hydroxide solution is added to it to be alkaline storage battery conductive agent, that is β-type high conductivity oxy-cobalt hydroxide is used. This alkaline storage battery conductive agent is added by 1-20 parts by weight to nickel hydroxide by 100 parts by weight in active material powder comprising nickel hydroxide grain or grain mainly comprising nickel hydroxide to compose an alkaline storage battery non-sintered nickel electrode. |
