PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the heating of a sensor element and burning of foreign matter at low cost by covering a sensor element for heating with a protective cover on which holes are formed and installing a heat transferring member extended from the sensor element into the holes of the protective cover. SOLUTION: A sensor element 3 is installed on a base part 2, and a heater 4 is provided in the sensor element 3 to maintain an activated state. A protective cover 5 with holes 6 distanced from each other is provided outside the sensor element 3, a gas to be detected is introduced into the protective cover 5 through the holes 6, the density of components in the gas to be detected is detected with the gas in contact with the surface of the sensor element 3. The first part 7a of a heat transferring member 7 is formed in the shape of a rectangular ring and intimately bonded to the sensor element 3. The second part 7b is intimately bonded to the first part 7a and extended from the first part 7a radially and outwardly into the holes 6 of the protective cover 5. Therefore, the heat transferring member 7 is heated with the heating of the sensor element 3, and foreign matter adhered so as to block the holes 6 of the protective cover 5 is burned. |
