FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: mowing unit has cutter disk rotating about substantially vertical axis and at least one conveying disk positioned above cutter disk and provided with peripheral pocket-shaped depressions. Cutter and conveying disks are rotated in opposite directions. It allows cutter disk to be rotated at relatively lower speed. Top surface of cutter disk may be provided with slantwise or arced notches or ribs. Inclination angle of notches or ribs is selected so as to provide gripping of bases of cut stalks and guiding them in radial inner direction.
