<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce waste of traffic due to an information cell. SOLUTION: In this network system, an asynchronous transfer mode ATM switch 52 is provided with a traffic fluctuation discrimination function section 63. When the section 63 has discriminated absence of traffic fluctuation, transmission of information cells having link information calculated from traffic information is reduced. Furthermore, the switch 52 is provided with a statistic parameter calculation function section 64, which, corresponding to the distribution of the traffic value, calculates a parameter used for discriminating the traffic fluctuation such as a mean value of traffic, a traffic fluctuation value and a threshold to reduce transmission of information cells.</p> |
