<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ultrasonic sensor in which a detecting area can be set easily at a desired range irrespective of whether a horn is long or short. SOLUTION: An ultrasonic sensor is provided with a transmission part 10 which transmits an ultrasonic signal, with a reception part 20 which receives the ultrasonic signal reflected by an object M to be detected, with a main control part 80 which detects the existence of the object M, to be detected, on the basis of the ultrasonic signal received by the reception part 20 and with horns 30 in which the transmitting and receiving direction of ultrasonic waves can be set when turned. The ultrasonic sensor is provided with a receiving- output adjusting part 50 which increases or decreases the receiving output of the ultrasonic signal in the reception part 20, with a mode changeover part 60 in which a first transmitting-receiving mode used to detect the object M, to be detected, in a first predetermined detecting area and a second transmitting- receiving mode used to detect the object M, to be detected, in a second detecting area narrower than the first detecting area are changed over and with a reporting part 70 which reports the detecting state of the object M to be detected.</p> |
