PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system which can be done so that preset information cannot be changed and has complicated various functions utilizable, without marring the primary purpose of the navigation system. SOLUTION: A lock key for inhibiting the change of preset information is provided on a remote control unit 8 for operating the navigation system. When the lock key is depressed, the information set by the user at this point is held into a lock state inhibiting the change of the setting. When a key attached to the remote control unit 8 to start another processing, the display screen of the navigation system is divided to show a picture concerning corresponding process to the preset information and picture concerning corresponding process to a new key input. When the lock state inhibiting the change of preset information is released by specified key operation, the divided screen returns to original screen on the display. |
