PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device for electric power, capable of high switching control in a short turn-off time and with low turn-off loss even within a region of small turn-off current. SOLUTION: This semiconductor device for electric power comprises a plurality of switching devices 1, 2 connected in parallel to each other, and a control part (G1, G2: control terminal) controlling the number of energized devices of the plurality of switching devices 1, 2 for power when turned off, corresponding to the values of currents which run through the plurality of switching devices 1, 2 for power.
