PURPOSE: A coordinates input apparatus is provided to achieve an improved use convenience by allowing use of both electronic pen or fingers. CONSTITUTION: A coordinate input apparatus for inputting coordinates by using fingers and an electronic pen emitting an AC signal having a first frequency, comprises a resistance card(31) having a surface coated with an insulating layer having a predetermined dielectric constant; a plurality of amplifiers(41,42,43,44) having input terminals connected to edges of the resistance card, respectively; a signal processing unit for receiving output from amplifiers and generating corresponding digital position data; a signal generator for generating an AC signal having a second frequency; and a mode switch unit for connecting the AC signal to the other input terminals of amplifiers during a touch mode, and grounding the other input terminals of amplifiers during a digitizer mode.
