<p>A driven rail vehicle comprises a carriage (1) with a drive unit arranged beneath the floor, connected for drive purposes with at least one of the bogies (2), supporting the carriage (1). According to the invention, a reliable cooling of the drive unit with an environmentally-friendly noise insulation is permitted, whereby at least one ventilator (24) is provided, which sucks cooling air into the encapsulation (5), by means of a noise-insulated inlet channel (18) and blows out of the machine chamber (6) through an exhaust opening (22), by means of a noise-insulated exhaust channel (23). Both the inlet opening (16) and the exhaust opening (22) are arranged transverse to the carriage longitudinal axis, in order to guarantee a cooling which is independent of direction of travel.</p> |
