<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and surely maintain security of data even in communication and output when the data are transmitted through a communication line to form an image at a distant place. <P>SOLUTION: A transmission-side terminal 1 (1a) divides image data into image data A and image data A' and issues management numbers A and A'. Further, the image data A and management number A, A<SP>'</SP>are sent to an output-destination terminal 2 (2a), and the image data A' and management number A' are recorded in a recording medium 3. The output-destination terminal 2 (2a), at the same time, receives the image data A and management number A and stores them in a storage part 27. When the recording medium 3 is brought in, the user is authenticated and when the authentication is successful, the image data A' and management number A' are obtained from the recording medium 3.
