A control unit and a control method for a gas suppression system are provided to sense a fire in two protection sections through one control device, and to decide a fire when the sensed data of two or more sensing devices is beyond the reference data. A control unit for a gas suppression system includes a power supply portion, a preliminary power portion(220), a sensing portion(112), an input/output portion(130), a control portion(120), a memory portion(140), and a communication portion(150). The sensing portion includes a heat sensing device(112-2), a smoke sensing device(112-1), a temperature sensing device(112-3), and a pressure sensing device(112-4). A switch input signal of the input/output portion is input into the control portion, which sets up reference data corresponding to the switch input signal, and controls an action corresponding to the switch input signal. Sensed data of the sensing portion is input into the control portion, which decides the presence of a fire by comparing the specific sensed data and the previously set up reference data.
